Update on PJ..........2/16/2012

"I also had to do SSI disability paperwork for PJ,j get him signed up for children's medical services, fill out those papers. I've been a busy bee. They want to send us home next week so I've got to get all kinds of stuff for home and PJ will be getting a home health nurse because they want to keep him on fungals 5 days a week so he gets weekends off and we will have to come to Nemores clinic 1 days week for his chemo treatments in port. So busy bees here, PJ is doing good, praying for his eyesight to come back so he can see us and his toys and his room; everything. Please give him his sight back dear Lord I pray, Amen"

Update PJ Garbarini

Pj had a great day today he was happy and played he is napping now I'm waking him up shortly cause I want him to sleep tonight dr Roy came to look at PJ today and is going to do surgery tomorrow. Some debridement and cleaning out dried blood in ear and to take a look around in there see what the fungus is up to. Maybe he won't see any and the stuff that lights up on scans is just dead tissue or bone and not fungus. Please Lord let fungus be gone. Then the doctors are going to start weening PJ off some of his drugs and try to send us home. Next week was mentioned I guess that's as long as nothing else arises it seem like every time chemo starts up PJ gets some new problem maybe that won't be the case and we can have smooth sailing for the rest of his treatments. So keep praying keeping the faith God is working hard answering our prayers healing PJ one day at a time. Just one more miracle I ask is to repair PJ's inflamed or damaged nerves in eye. Please Lord allow him to see I know u can do it look how much u have done already you heal the sick and allow the blind to see please Lord one more miracle. I ask for is my sons sight please please please touch him heal him Lord in your precious name of Jesus I pray amen

Update on PJ.......2/12/2012

"Pj doing good today, they are weening him from some drugs like morphine and some of the fungal drugs and we are going to start some chemo on Monday and if things go well they are talking about us going home ,it may be a while but at least now it's being talked about we will see how it goes thank you Jesus for the great progress in PJ's Health please keep the miracles coming and allow PJ to get his vision back so he can see us and see his room and all his toys when we get home in Jesus name I pray amen"

"Pj test came back he is still in remission from leukemia and Mucormycosis is stable so tomorrow need to decide of we still want to continue maintenance therapy to keep leukemia from coming back please Jesus help us to make the right decision amen"

Update on PJ Garbarini

pj had ruff night did not want to sleep or wouldn't sleep so was up all night finally went to sleep at 9 am I let him sleep for an hour then had him out and about all day keeping him awake just letting him have little naps so he would sleep tonight get him back on track MRI scans are stable blood test came back no leukemia in his blood yeah counts are up over 3000 tomorrow having surgery getting new g tube called a Mickey and starting chemo treatments back getting spinal and bone marrow going to check marrow for leukemia make sure he is still in remission so a lot going on today and tomorrow so sleep deprived and holding and entertaining pj all day so he will sleep tonight that i forgot to post so far it is working pj is snoring thank you Jesus we both need the rest so praying for good day tomorrow and for surgery to go well and we get our little man well and back home ASAP thank you jesus amen

update Ella Newmiller

After a day covered in prayer, Ella danced her way into heaven. Most likely, she was handed a pair of cowgirl boots and a microphone upon arrival. We're still working out details to celebrate our sweet girl's life and will post soon. As always, thank you for all of the love and prayers.

Update on PJ's grandfather

PJ's grandfather who had heart surgery will need a tracheostomy tomorrow due to being on the ventilator so long....prayers still needed that he will very soon be able to breath on his own and recuperate at home.

Update PJ Garbarini

Pj having a good day we went out for a walk and took a field trip to rainbow grill with my nurse and ACP and pj his first time out without having to have something done to him.Poor baby, his ANC count went up to 38 so will probably have MRI tomorrow.No surgery they want counts to be 150 or over to do surgery. Now he is in his bed playing with toys and listening to Elmo praying for counts to go up and a MRI scan tomorrow that shows a great healing for pj so we can know how to move forward with treatment please lord show a mighty healing of pj

Update on PJ.......2/4/2012

"Well I was told that pj had a party last night I slept right through it. I've been here for so long that I'm not a light sleeper you can't be in a hospital anyway so I'm immune to all sounds it may just be exhaustion anyway the nurse told me last night pj was up taking his eyepatch off and saying uh o and had his backyardigan guitar Stacy brought him and was jammin and beboppin his head to the music lol he is so funny so thank you Jesus for allowing his to have a good night and feel good even if it is in middle of the night we will take it he is still sleepin it off lol"

Update on Ella Newmiller

It has been more than two months since our last post. I think daily I need to do an update, but it is hard when we don't have much good news to report. Ella continues to struggle, unable to move her legs or arms (still a small bit of use of the left hand), loss of the ability to control her bladder, swollen from steroids (even though she's only on a low dose), sometimes there are breathing and swallowing troubles, she gets tired easily and often just feels icky. As this nightmare unfolds, the days can be tough. That said, throughout the last few months, there have been many blessings. Most in the form of friends, family and strangers - caroling by church friends and Ella's third grade classmates, visits with friends, some friends bringing a little bit of Hawaii to Ella (where she said she'd like to go if we could), and recently, hundreds of handmade hearts that have been arriving in the mail from all over, demonstrating just how much we are surrounded by love.
Many people ask what to pray for and how to help. Well, we're still praying for a miracle. So, we'd love for you to do the same. We also pray for joy in Ella's days and that we continue to feel a strong sense of God's presence. In addition to prayer, if you're local and want to help, we'd love for you to honor Ella by either participating in, or volunteering at, an upcoming race that will benefit pediatric brain tumor research - in the hopes that someday other families will be spared from what we are now experiencing. Update on PJ Garbarini

Pj had good day today no big problems has been throwing up but no new problems is good. His belly looking a little better urine culture showed bacterial infection so getting treated with 2 antibiotics for it maybe why groin is swollen time will tell. Praying for swelling to go down and infections clear up soon.No new news about g tube surgery yet may not need is as soon as we thought we will see. PJ ANC numbers still down so chemo has been put off till they come back up praying to get through this with flying colors praise the Lord for giving us strength to get through this and thanks to all who pray and continue to pray and praise the name of jesus for us amen - Angela

Pj is same as yesterday getting more morphine for pain (testicular) swelling has not gotten better yet said it would take a few days for antibiotic to work will probably have urologist come tomorrow along with infectious disease and surgery also to find out about new g tube really no new news please lord help doctors understand what's going on and how to help fix pj keep your healing hands on pj amen.PJ's Great Granddaddy is also in cardiac ICU for bypass surgery, doing ok...yes we are keeping the prayer lines busy!! - Angela

Update on PJ Garbarini....1/28/2012

PJ had an ok day! Getting interthecal chemo tomorrow don't know what time yet. Had no vomiting and has been pooping so not a lot of tummy pain today and we are cutting back on some of the anti fungal before they start doing damage to other organs. Docs think we are in a good place to start cutting back its hard to tell what needs or should be done with meds because PJ is the first person to ever have this disease and have these treatments, tolerate them and live this long, so PJ's going to be in medical books. They are going to write a study about him. PJ 'is a miracle and keeps getting better every day. He has his set backs now and again but he is a tough little man. Praise the Lord for him, thank you Jesus for allowing him to pull through this and fight this horrible disease that no one else has been able to. Just keep giving us reasons to sing your praises and heal him and allow him to see again in Jesus precious name I pray, Amen

PJ had a good day just a little bloated, was constipated, he had four poopy diapers but his tummy is so hard and he says it hurts. Praying it gets back on track.Well, while I was writing this he threw up on me, so praying his tummy gets settled. Please Lord Jesus heal PJ's sickness in your precious name I pray Amen. (side note: he does like to hold a phone, so...."HI" to everyone from PJ!!)

"PJ has had a good day today, not throwing up, been tolerating feeds and was out walking, riding scooter and playing and had an occupational therapy session. Now he is napping, wish he would have been awake for his cousin Casey's visit. Thank you Jesus for such a great day and for keeping your healing hands on PJ. Pj is doing well still vomiting and diarrhea the doctors and nurses are racking brains to figure out how to get it under control he had a good day other than that Maria and I went and spent some time together she wanted to see the movie we bought a zoo such a good movie and not a cartoon I'm surprised she stayed interested my baby is growing up so fast the doctor yesterday said we are going to be here in hospital a long time months and suggested I go home and have my mom stay with pj and be with Maria for a little while so I asked Maria what she wanted me to do go home with her and get her to school and all I don't want her to feel like I abandoned her she said no mommy pj needs you you need to stay with pj I told her you know I love you right just to make sure she really understands and she said yes mommy I love you too. I asked her multiple times to see if she might change her mind she kept giving me the same answer It's amazing how much a five year old can understand and how much a two year olds body can endure I am just amazed and in aww of gods wonderful creations and feel so blessed to have two of the best kids in the world thank you Jesus you never cease to amaze me praying for pj healing and for the doctor and nurses to have the wisdom and knowledge to get pj drugs just right to get him better in Jesus name I pray amen

Update on PJ Garbarini.....1/12/2012

"Well PJ has had a good day so far no vomiting or diarrhea, yeah!!!The Opthalmologist came and looked at PJ's eye today and said yes his pupil is less dilated than when she saw it last and it is moving which it wasn't doing before. Is he ever going to be able to see again she can't say. it doesn't look good but if they remove eye they still cant guarantee they can get it all or if it would save his life if they did, so after further review the surgeons have backed off on surgery and now we are staying the course with treatment we are on and praying for a healing and miracle to get rid of fungus through medicine and prayer and the occasional debridement whenever needed so we are not removing his eye and praying for a healing! When you can't do anything else that's when you get your miracles thank you Jesus for all you do I will work on my patience it's so hard to be patient I never knew how hard till now but I know in time you will heal him and restore his Vision praise the Lord PJ is still with us and has touched so many lives please Lord Jesus allow us to stay on the healing path and allow PJ to grow up to be a big strong man and be a testimony to you in Jesus name I pray amen"

Update on PJ Garbarini....1/10/2012

"Well Lord you did it again. Scans are clear no fungus spread to other parts of body the only thing that it showed is dead bone in between brain and sinus cavity and eyes which we already knew. Now the surgeons neuro and Dr. Roy need to look at scans and access what should be done next. ...More debreement or not more. Good news is PJ is moving his eye a little more and more every day little twitches I could just stare at it all day. OK,I do stare at it all day lol anyway thank you Jesus for healing my baby and bone marrow and spinal. No sign of leukemia praise the Lord so we are continuing with the treatment we are on because it seems to be working. The doc said he is going to be on the fungal drugs still for months cause they still need to treat leukemia with chemo and need to keep the fungal from coming back so we are going to be here for a long time which in a way is good. We can't go home anytime soon but one day we will go home. Thank you Jesus. A little over a month ago things were a lot different, thank you Jesus for answering our prayers, you are an awesome God, the almighty healer and I praise you for giving us our miracle. Thank you Jesus Amen"

"Pj has been throwing up and sleeping most of the day he is going to have surgery tomorrow to have abscess drained that has popped up on his eye he is also going to have sinuses cleaned out they did x rays last night said no obstructions all they saw was gas. On Friday they are going to do scans on rest of body to make sure fungus has not spread to other organs and i think may start chemo next week depending on what scans show, that's all updates I have on PJ today."

"PJ had a great Christmas. Going to have and MRI Monday or Tuesday. Today the drs are going to try gentian violet to his left eye to hopefully get rid of the fungus growing in the cavity. Never been done before..... when this is all controlled he'll begin chemo again. Keep the prayers coming. For now he is feeling so good!"

God bless you and thank you for your prayers. My Dad is out in a regular room now, in little pain and awaiting his trip to Siskin Re-hab. His only real complaint is about the food but I am so happy to hear him complain. They are doing therapy daily and he is doing great. May you and your loved ones have a very Blessed Merry CHRISTmas. I updated this morning about my Dad having a good night except his Blood Pressure dropping. Well things have changed for now. Around Lunch time they moved him to ICU where he would be watched more closely due to his Blood Pressure and they are worried about his Kidney function. "Results of the MRI: Well as of now scans are stable, the infectious disease Dr. came in and looked at the sore in PJ's mouth and said it looks a lot better so we are going to keep going on treatments and after recovered from this fungus need to start fighting leukemia again so that's where we are for right now with that which is a lot better than what we were faced with last week God is wonderful"

PJ's Mom's latest post: "PJ threw up meds again so maybe it is God's way of telling me he going to be healed and doesn't need them.That's the way I look at it. Praying for a great scan on Monday that will show a great healing is happening and shock all the Dr's cause they look at me like I'm crazy when I say he is going to be healed because God is in control. I know they just have to go by what they see and share that with us so I hope God uses PJ to help change their lives so they will believe in miracles. Thank you Lord for the small improvements you have made in PJ's health so far, having him laugh and smile again has been a wonderful blessing to us all and I praise You for that Lord. Give PJ a complete healing of mucormycosis, leukemia and restore vision. Also, please Lord, let my little man be a beacon to lead people to You who may not believe. Show them You are real and taking care of those who call on You and believe in You. Please let PJ live to be a testimony for You; our miracle baby. In Jesus name I pray, Amen."
