Prayer Requests and Updates for January 2007

Please add Jean Doyle to your prayer list. Her 25 year old son was killed New Year's Eve.

Please add Bro. Bagley to the prayer list. He has Cancer and his health is really bad right now. He is in a lot of pain, with heavy chemotherapy treatments, and he has to use a walker to get around. He has always been a very talkative and friendly man, but now he hardly speaks at all. Please ask the prayer partners to pray for a touch of the Master's Hand in his behalf.

And also add Bro. Sherrif, his Cancer is in its final stages, and they have given him a matter of days. And pray for the families of these men, we will do all that we can, but only God can help them through this time.
Bro. Terry

Please add Nelson to your prayer list. He was diagnosed with a bad case of shingles earlier this week. However, his condition started to deteriorate last night and he was admitted to the hospital. A CAT scan showed a mass on his brain. Willetta
Update: He is back in the hospital with a leaky heart value. The doctors will replace it sometime in the next 24 hours. Apparently these things are rated on a scale of 1-5, with one being the least harmful. Nelson's is a 4.5, so he needs the surgery pretty quickly. Carol's not doing so good. Amy said she cried for the first time. Nelson had quadruple bypass surgery and the valve replacement. The valve problem was caused by a bacterial infection that the doctors think he picked up in the hospital.

Please add Riktor Phillips, his family, and the doctors to your prayer list. Riktor started having headaches, then one day couldn't walk, and a tumor was found on his brain. This later advanced to spinal lesions. I just wanted to update everyone and ask again for your prayers and support for this little boy. Riktor is going to be 3 years old. He is the sweetest little boy and is in serious trouble medically. The doctors have given his family his official diagnosis and not only are his tumors cancerous, but they are called Medulloblastoma which if you google it you will see this is very serious when it has already spread to the spine. Last week Riktor had brain surgery to remove the main tumor in the back of his head and they plan to attack the spinal tumors and a few remaining brain cell tumors with chemotherapy over a 6 month period.
Update:
Riktor is doing well. For continuing updates visit

Please add Paula Johnson to your prayer list as she is having back surgery January 10th. She will be in the hospital 3 to 7 days then in a "swing bed" at a therapy hospital for 2 or 3 weeks. After that, she will be at her son's house until she can take care of herself. Dr. Heller is doing the surgery, and Paula asks for prayers for him while he is working on her and for her while she is trying to learn how to get around after the surgery.
Update:
The surgery took about 1 & 1/2 hrs longer than we were expecting. The doctor came out and gave a positive report. The surgery was successful. She will have a long recovery and the doctor said she would have a good deal of pain as he said they really "worked on her." We are all very thankful for your prayers and concerns and while she is not totally out of the woods, just making it through 11.5 hrs of surgery shows her to be a pretty tough gal, so we are all prayerfully confident that she will do fine. Paula is now seen around town going to her regular luncheons, meetings, and such. She is doing great!

Please take a moment to say a prayer for Wanda Borror who has been diagnosed with Lieukemia. She will be in Emory Hospital for some time.

Please add Sally Manning to your prayer list. I just found out that she has been battling stage 3 breast cancer since April. She just completed chemo and has started radiation therapy.
Update:
I have finished the chemo and radiation and am now feeling much better...........thanks to the many prayers sent up for me. Keep me in the prayer chain. I pray for everyone you let me know about. So many people I didn't even know prayed for me and it helped me so much. I could truly feel the prayers. Love, Sally

This is a request for your prayers in Jamie's behalf. This Sat. as Jamie was walking past a pick up truck, she spoke to the dog in the back. The dog attacked her face! She was rushed by ambulance to the hospital and a plastic surgeon was called in. He had to reattach a portion of her nose about the size of a quarter on the top/tip of her nose. He also had to stitch an area between her eyes. Fortunately, the dog did not bite her eyes, but they both have turned black and hurt, so I think that his nose probably hit her right one. She also has puncture wounds inside her nose. Naturally, she has been in a lot of pain and sees the dog coming at her when she closes her eyes. Please pray for the pain to lessen and that when she goes to the doctor tomorrow he will see evidence that the tissue is living, so that she will not have to have skin grafts. Thank you,Donna Please pray for Janet and her family. They are really struggling financially and have been feeling so low lately; please have everybody pray that God will see them through these times.

Now, here's a big challenge for the Prayer Partners! The developers are trying to get a law changed so that the 100' buffer is changed to 25' so they can build closer to the marsh on the coast. The DNR Board, which has some developers on it unfortunately, is voting on the change Wednesday Jan. 24th. We have tried to circulate to as many people as possible to write, e-mail, or call the Board and the governor. If you have done that, thank you. If you haven't, do it. Add this issue to your prayer list, please.

Tom L. is in trouble due to some business dealings. Please add him and his family to your prayer list.

Please put Lisa on the prayer list as she is having health problems and is fearing the worst.

Please add Ray to your prayer list as he is having multiple health problems including 30% heart function.
Update:
After spending a month at home under Hospice care, Ray went to his heavenly home April 8th.
