Prayer request for Jill Harris April 14, 2009
Jill received her diagnosis today. Her tests confirmed the cancer is a stage 4 adenocarcenoma of the pancreas ( pancreatic cancer). The cancer has spread from her pancreas into the liver and small intestine. Although the reality of this situation is very grave, we remain hopeful and pray fervently for Jill to win this battle. LATER April 14, 2009----We had a visit from Dr. Finn. Our outlook is even more dire than thought before. The cancer is very aggressive. Given the aggressive nature of this cancer (the biopsy showed a rapid cell division rate in the cancer), chemotherapy is the only real option to be able to stop the growth of the cancer. WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15, 2009---After talking with Dr. Dillmon, Jill and Eric have opted to most likely stay at Redmond Hospital for her chemotherapy treatments. We are waiting for the final biopsy report that should be ready late this afternoon. Dr. Dillmon will be back to visit again on Thursday and the final treatment decisions will be made then. We expect her to begin treatment with one chemotherapy drug on Thursday. She will take a second oral chemo drug that has to be ordered.
