Cody Update ......... August 7th, 2009
I got news on Wednesday from MD Anderson, that Cody's surgeon agrees with the first two who looked at the MRI and that surgery is not an option. He just said to seek medical attention closer to home. So today we had our appointment with Dr. Ibach in Knoxville and he had not heard from Duke yet. So when everyone got to calling around, we found out that the MRI that should have gone to Duke, had actually been sent to a second time to MD Anderson. So it is now being sent to Duke, but that means it will not be looked at until at least Monday. We do not know anymore, other than we don't want to start any kind of treatments until we hear from Duke. If we do it could change any clinical trials that may be used on Cody. I asked for a copy of Cody's MRI report today, and it appears that the tumor developed in both the right and left ventricles and is showing also on the brain stem. But the vent is working and no hydrocephalous is backing up. We know that this is very serious and we don't know how much the treatments will even help. But when you look at Cody and his smiling face, you know that somehow God will work a miracle for him. Please, Please keep praying for Cody, he needs the strength and the courage to fight this tough battle. So far, Cody is eating and sleeping well, we just have to walk beside him to make sure he does not fall. He loves to play anyone who dares to play him a card game called "Egyptian Rattale", that seems to keep his mind busy and he loves it. I will update when we get more news. The Hallcox's
