Cody Update............October 27, 2009

Since the 1-40 rock slide, we took the colorful, scenic drive through Tellico Plains and the Cherohala Sky way to Duke. Cody missed most of the beautiful colors because he was sleeping. The doctors were pleased with his MRI, they say that the Temodar is having some affect on the tumors, at least they have not grown in two months. They also did some blood work to try to figure out why he sleeps so much. They said that after all the radiation and now the chemo, it could have affected some of his levels, like his thyroid or other levels that can be easily corrected. I don't have the results back yet, hopefully tomorrow. The doctor asked Cody "where are you at"? He said Knoxville, then she asked him "what month is it"? He said April. He knows what year it is but can't keep track of the month or season. He is always asking what time of year it is! I know it must be confusing having to stay inside a lot and then on top of that, sleeping a lot. He will start his chemo tonight, I hope that he does as well for the next 5 days as he did the last 2 treatments. He is still celebrating his birthday, 4 more cards today. That makes him receiving around 180 cards......WOW...and......THANKS. I am saving all of his cards, from Texas through today, so that someday, when his memory returns, he can read them and realize just how much everyone cares about him. He never complains and is always happy, you would not know that he is as critical as he is. He just takes everyday...ONE-DAY-AT-A-TIME, The Hallcox Family
