Cody has now finished his 6th round of chemo, we will get a MRI at the end of the month and then go back to Duke on March 1. I mentioned in the last update that Cody had a virus at the end of his 5th chemo, but now I know that it was the chemo causing him vomit, because he did it again this week when he finished his chemo. I guess that he was just lucky for the first months that he did not get sick. He has not been eating well this week, but today is the first day that he has not been sick, I asked him what he would like for breakfast in the morning, and he said "biscuits & gravy", so I know that he is feeling better.
He is now getting "home" therapy, we have a physical therapist coming out on M-W-F and a occupationa
l therapist coming on T-T. He has been getting this since Jan. 15 , he seems to be getting stronger, his PT is working on building muscle strength so he can have more balance and control. His OT is working hard on his right hand to make it useful. I am so glad that he is getting the home therapy, because with the chemo and if he had to travel each day for therapy, he would be zapped.
I took him outside this afternoon and we walked up and down the driveway 3 times, I was surprised that he made it that many times, but he is gaining muscle strength and that give him endurance. When he gets outside he always starts talking about mowing yards, I told him that he would be back to mowing in no time. He said that he would be mowing by the summer time. I sure hope he is...it is such a tragedy that he is in the shape that he is. He enjoys life and he enjoys the great outdoors. But you never know what life will send your way, we just have to move on and never give up.
Please pray for good results for his MRI which will be the last week of this month.
I will update soon.....ONE-DAY-AT-A-TIME, The Hallcox Family
