Not the best of news, but definitely not the worst either. Clinically, Ella looks fantastic. The size of the tumor remains basically the same, but the scan shows a little enhancement(activity) inside of the tumor. It is just a little bit more than last time; however, the main concern is that Dr. Warren noticed three new spots outside of the tumor area. We do not know if that is new tumor, necrosis, or scar tissue. Her recommendation was to consult with our neuro-oncologist at Duke, but come back in 4 weeks for another scan to try to get more information. Dr. Warren said it was rare for kids to be this far out, so everything with Ella is an unknown. Please pray for these spots to be nothing. We pick up and move on. Life does not stop. Ella certainly hasn't even slowed down. We will keep our focus on all of our many blessings. We move forward with our faith in God as strong as it ever has been.
Ella turns 7 May 2nd.
