I am so glad to get to send out a good report. I have received several bits of good news today. I have talked with several doctors today. Finally one explained the infection. The infection is causing the pneumonia - so it's just one problem not two separate problems as I thought. She said his lungs don't look that bad. She was not greatly concerned about the pneumonia. Another dr. thinks the liver function results were too high because Albert has not had much nutrition. The gastro drs. closed him as much as they could today. They were not able to close completely but it's the last time they will work on his abdomen. They decided it's best to put in a permanent mesh thing that will disintegrate and be absorbed by the body eventually. Albert will have to wear a binder around him for a while and later - a long time later- he will have skin grafts to cover the opening that's left. And of course he will be high risk for a hernia. Max, I think his days of unloading caskets are over - and hay, etc. etc. Those are my orders not the dr. (ha) They have removed both chest tubes, are planning to remove vent real soon, and in a few days have him sitting up in the bed. Yaaaaay!!!! I was able to lipread him asking me where I would spend the night, he told me his leg hurts and his stomach hurts and he is still asking for water. The have removed the pain meds IV, he is given shots as needed through a port. Sugar and BP are good. Not much change as far as I know with Albert's dad. Thank you everyone for your prayers! God has really been working these last 2 weeks!!
I love ya'll,
Albert's wife
