| Albert has felt better today - no nausea. He eats only a little and then has to stop because he feels like he'll be sick if he eats too much. We think his stomach has shrunk quite a bit. He did move to rehab today. He's all settled in, the wound nurse changed his wound vac and said the skin graft is looking great! It's funny to watch those nurses get so excited over a nasty looking wound but it excites me to hear them carrying on about how good it looks. They checked him out very thoroughly getting him ready to exercise and in the process, by doing an ultrasound, found that he has a blood clot in the leg that was broken. But thanks to the filter that the Grady Drs. had the foresight to install, Albert has suffered no ill effects from it. But they are increasing the dosage of the blood thinner that he was already being given. They think that will dissolve the clot. So, you all have another prayer assignment for this weekend. Thank you very much!!! (And the next move will be to COME HOME!!!!) P.S. Also he is the lightest he's been in over 40 years!! He's going to try to maintain that weight when he gets better. But he really doesn't recommend this method of weight loss! |
