UPDATE: Albert Davenport...November 9, 2010

Albert is improving by leaps and bounds! Today they removed feeding
tube, ng tube, trach tube, and he has no IVs. When I arrived there this
morning the physical therapists were working with him and he had sat on
the side of the bed for a few minutes. He had hoped I would get there
while he was sitting there so he could surprise me but I missed it.
All pain meds are being given by mouth and seemed to take care of the
pain well today. When I left him he had just finished feeding himself
soup and pudding as he can sit up straight enough to eat his food from
the table. Tomorrow he will move out of ICU into a room. I jokingly
told someone that I would bring him home the next day - I wish. But
seriously, the difference in him from Friday to today is absolutely
amazing. Watching him improve so much has given me a tremendous boost -
and also living out of my house instead of the pickup has helped too.
Albert has been telling the nurses that having good friends is much
better than having gold. He sends everyone his love and thanks. All
this reminds me of one of my favorite songs:
God still answers prayer
In his time He'll work a miracle He will never fail
Satan has lost the battle when to the Lord you humbly bow
God still answers prayer!

God Bless!!
