Hello to all:
Merry Christmas, and just a quick update on Cody, he took part of his treatment on Wednesday, his blood work was in good range so he got his CPT-11 but before he gets the Avastin they have to check his urine for protein, this was the first time that his had shown more than a trace of protein, his was 2.5 so they had to send it to the hospital to get it tested further. We should know on Monday what needs to be done to get rid of the protein. I know for sure that he does not drink enough, and that is a must while taking chemo. He is just not able to eat or drink enough to make a difference.
He had a rough night on Wed. after chemo, I don't know what it does to his body, but he moaned and coughed and just could not sleep. But Thursday night he did better, but chemo just wipes him out.
He has not had any muscle strength in several weeks now, it is hard to move him from bed to chair and back again. His body is just suffering from all the strong chemo.
He has his MRI on Monday, the 27th, I dread it, I feel like something has changed, but I always get sick when it is time for it.
I just pray that it is still stable, but with his body changing it makes me wonder.
We want to thank everyone for all the cards, prayers and support for this almost four year battle.
We had a special treat on Wednesday night, our church, Luminary UMC came Christmas Caroling, Cody was awake and seemed to really enjoy it, then about 30 minutes later my brother and sister's church from Madisonville came Christmas Caroling also, Cody stayed awake, this made us feel special and we really enjoyed it, Thanks again.
We have our appointment at Duke on Jan. 3, please pray for good news, and also good news on the MRI.
I posted a couple of new pictures of Cody, he really looks good, he always has that big smile on his face, no matter how bad he feels or even if he can barely hold his head up. We keep telling him that he is "FORD TOUGH" and he really is, I could not go through what he is.
Please pray for body strength and that he will be able to eat and drink more than he is now.
We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy "HEALTHY" New Year.
