1/26/2011---Death Notice of Grover Jones

Announcing my dear husband Grover's death

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” –Psalm 116:15

Rev. Grover D. Jones, my precious husband of 61 years, went to be at home with the Lord early today, January 26, 2011, at 12:55 at Georgia War Veterans' Home.

I had been with him from 10 a. m. January 25 through until his death.

He was comatose, but just before the end opened his eyes wide, seemed to be completely aware that I was there beside him, smiled, and then expired.

It was a glorious moment, for God fulfilled my prayer of being with him at the end. I can only rejoice that he is now out of his long years of suffering with Alzheimer’s and is at rest in his heavenly home.

Rev. Grover Jones was

1. Precious in his profession of faith.

2. Precious in his calling as a minister.

3. Precious in his life and work.

4. Precious in his compassion and commitment.

5. Precious in suffering.

I am tired, but God is giving me the strength I need.

I know God will grant his love and strength to my family as we say our goodbyes. I pray his memorial services will draw people closer to the Lord. Grover would have wanted that to be the result of any tributes to him—not to focus on him, but to focus on his Lord and Savior.

Thank you for your prayers.

Ethelene
