Update on Andy Long-----2/4/2011
Well...yesterday, February 2nd, was the end of chemo session #1...just 8 more to go! Now it's one week off for Andy before starting session 2 on February 9th. My overview of the past 2 weeks is as follows: It will be a true blessing from God if the remainder of his treatment goes as well as the first...Basically, he has only mentioned, but did not complain of, some numbness in his hands and feet which comes and goes, food and drink don't taste exactly like they should, but do not taste bad; sensitivity to cold especially when taking food out of the freezer and going outside barefoot to retrieve the newspaper, so he tries not to hang in the freezer too much and wears socks most of the time now; that tired feeling seems to be the biggest issue I've seen so far, but what can we expect when we are feeding our bodies these chemo meds. We have such wonderful friends who are checking on him and continuously inquiring about him, and reminding him of how much he is loved...and that right there is a most powerful medicine in itself. They even ask how I am doing, to which I reply very good...cause everything has been easy for me so far...I will think positively and thank God we were given a warning sign that so many people don't get. Thanks for all your guest book entries! We love you all...Carol
